I enjoyed meeting many of you at "Meet the Teacher" August 26! Media Volunteers are wanted. Stop by any morning 8:45-9:30 or email: [email protected]. I am waiting on a few final touches in the Media Center including Circulation desktop computers and book trucks. Good News: the Media Center boasts over 14,000 new children's books-stories and non-fiction, resource subscriptions, and plenty of laptops for students to conduct research and demonstrate learning through collaborative projects.
The first two weeks, Grades 2-5 are investigating mysteries. Kindergarten-1st Grade are getting familiar with the Media Orientation and book care expectations. Normal book limits are: Ki and 1st=one book, 2nd=2 books, and 3rd-5th-3 books. It is recognized that students may need extra books for Book Buddies or Research. The normal loan period is 2 weeks. If books are lost or damaged, the family pays for the replacements. Following the Olympics, I am excited to get to know your children and encourage them to set "Goals for Gold" in reading and for school. See you soon!
